This is a close-up view of the entrance to Newgrange. The interesting thing is that only during the Winter solstice (for a 5 day period), the rising sun shines through the opening above the door, up the 60´ passageway and into the burial chambers. There is a closed, 10 year waiting list to be there during these 60 minutes of sunlight a year.
